Extremely saddened to hear of the passing of Carrie Fisher.
I am at a loss for words, but a piece from Shakespeare’s Cymbeline seems apt:
‘Fear no more the frown o’ the great;
Thou art past the tyrant’s stroke;
Care no more to clothe and eat;
To thee the reed is as the oak;’
She was the first women I remember from my childhood that made me understand what a beautiful woman was. Smart, strong, independent, powerful. She also played Peter’s vulgar boss in Family Guy, very funny.
I think when Carrie played the role of Princess Leia she injected a bit of herself into to the part, certainly at that time in 1977 Carrie broke all stereotypes.
Now her mom just passed away today too!
Oh No So sad to hear.
Thanks for the update GnomishViking.
Damnit man! Don’t give me the feels!
